Dog Parks Near The Village at Fox River Apartments

One of the best perks about living in a pet-friendly apartment community is the number of dog parks nearby! Even if you don’t have a dog, it’s good to know where the local canines kick it.

Mac Arthur Dog Run

The Mac Arthur Dog Run (also known as the Waukesha Dog Run) is located 2 miles north of our community in the Woodridge Grove neighborhood. An easy five-minute drive on US-18/Les Paul Parkway brings you to a place of “social interaction, pure relaxation, and immense amounts of fun.”
The Waukesha Freeman Sponsor and Operation SPOT support the park by providing visitors with a hiking trail, picnic area, trees, and shaded areas. Please read the City Ordinances and Dog Run Rules in the PDF.

Minooka Dog Park

Minooka Dog Park spans 19 acres with a large and small dog area. All dogs taller than 20 inches at the shoulder must use the large dog area.
Visitors can find the park on Sunset Drive at the County Highway Y/Racine Avenue intersection. The park features various grounds, offering a mixture of wetlands, woods, and mowed and unmowed turf. Learn more about the Minooka dog exercise area.

Mitchell Park Dog Exercise Areas

Mitchell Park is 450 acres filled with wetlands, an archery range, and an arts center. In addition, the park is home to Elmbrook Little League, and across the street from Fox Brook Park, a local quarry turned swimming hole with a paved trail.
Mitchell Park Dog Area has a fun path through the woods and offers small and large dog areas. Please be advised some areas are not fenced in, so dogs with poor recall skills are recommended to be watched closely.

West Allis Dog Park

West Allis Dog Park opened in 2019 thanks to one Community Workshop established in January 2018. Dog owners may pay $5 per visit, or residents may pay $25 per year ($50 per year for non-residents). Before taking your dog to the West Allis Dog Park, please look at the map and rules.
